We have the double fridge version. First the lights on the control panel stopped working. They send in a repair person and as it turns out he used electrical tape to hold the wires in place where they flex each time the drawer is opened. That lasted about 3 months. The next guy ordered a new "improved" cable. That lasted about 12 months. It has a 24 month guarantee. Then that one failed but it kept things cold..and 2 months later the top of the unit stopped being cold but the bottom was fine.Another repair visit and the parts for this repair were on back-order. It took 10 weeks for the parts to come in. The repair man is in the kitchen now working on it. So this is the 5'th time we have seen a repair person in 18 months. They extended the warranty for an additional 6 months now that the unit didn't work at all for the past 10 weeks. When this breaks out of warranty I'll set it on the curb as this thing is a piece of junk. There was a time you could depend on the name Kitchenaid but no more.Here we are 3 months later. They got it working and I quickly extended the warranty for another 5 years! It's a nice thing when it works and now I know it will be OK for 7.5 years from purchase less a couple months we were waiting for parts.
