There is a setting for small cubes and for large cubes but there is little apparent difference between the two. The cubes that are produced are very wet and if you want to store them, they stick together badly. Worst of all, after a few weeks of operation the unit malfunctioned. A small robotic arm is supposed to transfer the ice into a storage basket but this mechanism quit working after a few weeks and the machine stopped.

After a few months of operation, our unit also malfunctioned with the small plastic scoop/arm (part 14), that transfers the ice into a storage basket, jamming and causing the machine to stop. The manufacture was very prompt in explaining the problem and the part we needed (the plastic ice scoop #14) ) from the seller (Air & Water, Inc.) but the seller at first said they'd check the warehouse for the part but then we never heard back from the seller and the seller has been unresponsive to our inquires about sending us the part or refunding our money.We purchased the unit on December 30th (it didn't arrive until mid January) and the warranty will expire on December 30th without having the part to repair the machine which has been broken most of the year. Aside from the ice scoop jamming, the machine had worked well and the manufacture was prompt in diagnosing the problem. We are currently out of the country but hope to be back before December 30, at which point we will request a return on the product via Amazon (assuming we have not received the part or the refund by then). Without the part, (#14), we'll then need to purchase new ice machine from Amazon (different model and vender).[Side Note: to get large ice cubes starting on the first batch, I used cold water from the fridge (vs tap water).]NewAir AI110W Portable Countertop Ice Maker
