Almost seven years ago, I bought a complete 27" Thermador microwave and oven built in combo (S1MCC). Within the last three years, we had to replace the controller/display twice and the oven door hinges once for a total bill of $1200. Now the microwave oven is not working anymore and Thermador insists that I need to replace the entire unit for a "special price" of more than 4K. What adds insult to injury is that they only make now a unit that has, in addition, a warmer drawer necessitating a cabinet redo. REALLY? Themador?, I payed several thousand dollars for a premium brand that is utterly unreliable and now I have to redo the kitchen?. Well, I found a way to replace the microwave alone with a Panasonic (NN-SD997S) that looks great and fits perfectly. Panasonic actually makes the microwaves for themador so there!. You have to take the faceplate and holding screws out slide the old microwave out of the cabinet. Within half an hour you can slide the new one in. I have to make a legal/safety disclaimer here because I cannot guarantee that this solution will work for everybody but for me it saved me several thousand dollars.....look it up and ask your local dealer/repairman.

After researching choices for a replacement oven, we found this 27" Thermador oven configuration that does everything we could possibly want. Thermador is a brand that we've enjoyed for 25 years and trust fully. The ovens in this combo are large, easy to program, easy to use and are very attractive and quiet. We've already had a dinner party using all 3 ovens at the same time and just love having the ability to do that. The convection microwave is big enough to rotate a large rectangular baking pan, which is a big plus for warming leftovers.The shipping and delivery were flawless: speedy and professional.This whole Amazon shopping experience rates 5 stars.

Updated our kitchen and this wall unit fit perfectly -- my old 27" oven wouldn't hold my cookie sheets -- this one has room inside to spare! Convection was new to me -- really cooks fast. The microwave is great and it's convection oven mode very handy, I use the warmer nearly every day. Just ran the self clean --- beautiful.
